Peruvian Project Inc is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit based just outside Rochester, NY. We are run by an all volunteer board of Directors who work to raise money to fund specific projects that educate and empower poor children in the jungle areas of Peru including the cities of Iquitos and Moyobamba.

Rubi Casado
President
Rubi is originally from the rainforest of Peru, and for the past 18 years she has been residing in Canada. She hopes that children from impoverished areas in the Peruvian rainforest become empowered through education, thus she volunteers her time to Peruvian Project’s mission. Rubi’s interests are travelling, gastronomy, health, amateur hiking, and learning from different cultures.

Luisa Ríos

Luisa was born in Peru. Residing in the USA for the last 47 years. I support education, justice and equality. Her interests are: languages, cultures, traveling, music, health and nutrition.
Robert C. Owens
Co-founder and Treasurer
Robert was born in the Rochester area. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru. He taught science and coached swimming and running. Robert’s interests are reading, hiking, running, skiing, biking and traveling.

Bill Fanning
Board member
Bill is a realtor and part owner of the real estate company called Smart Real Estate. He’s been a realtor since 1986. Bill attended Paul Smith’s College for his freshman year (1971-1972) and finished up getting a business degree from the University of Buffalo in 1975. In September of 2017, he completed hiking all of the 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks and became 46er #10,979.
